Welcome to the town of Woody Point - a charming town tucked into the heart of Gros Morne National Park, known for its stunning views, vibrant culture, and welcoming locals. Whether you’re here for a day or planning an extended stay, here are a few insider tips to help you make the most of your visit.
🚗 Getting Here By Water Shuttle
If you're coming to Woody Point from Rocky Harbour or Norris Point or any of the other locations on the Northern Peninsula, take the BonTours Breeze shuttle - it's the fastest and most convenient way to get to Woody Point. The fifteen minute boat ride across beautiful Bonne Bay from Norris Point saves a one hour drive. In addition to saving time, the shuttle presents the opportunity for taking magnificent photos of the Tablelands, Gros Morne mountain and the unique communities nestled along the shores of this spectacular bay.
🛥️ The shuttle leaves Norris Point @ 9am, 12:30pm, 3:00pm and 5:00pm. No reservation required - just show up at the dock in Norris Point.
🛥️ The regular return shuttle to Norris Point is @ 9:30am, 1:15pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm but we hope you're planning to stay for the show and use our Show Shuttle to return!
🛥️ The SHOW RETURN SHUTTLE will bring you back to Norris Point at 9:15pm. Reservation required - be sure to book your return shuttle when you book your tickets.
🚗 Getting Around Woody Point When You Arrive by Shuttle
Woody Point is very 'walkable'. You will arrive at the town dock and have immediate access to shops and restaurants. If you'd like to visit the Tablelands, or the Discovery Centre, take a scenic drive to Trout River or visit one of our restaurants that are a little farther from the dock than you'd like to walk, book transportation through our local taxi or tour services:
Martin's Transportation: (709) 453-2207
Gros Morne Transportation: (709) 385-7206
🚗 Getting Here By Car
Woody Point is at the end of Route 431, a scenic drive through mountains and as you get closer, a view of the Tablelands. If you're coming for th day (and the show), drop in to the Discovery Centre to get a guide to this area of the park. If you're coming to stay and you're passing through Corner Brook or Deer Lake, stock up on groceies and supplies there - local stores are great for basics, but selection is limited. And yes, watch for moose!
