The Venue
The Merchant Warehouse
Retro Cafe and Wine Bar
Nestled in the charming town of Woody Point in the Gros Morne Park, the Merchant Warehouse is more than a venue; it’s a vibrant piece of Newfoundland history brought to life. Located on the scenic waterfront, this beautifully restored building once served as a warehouse for local merchant, George C. Butt. It is now operated as a restaurant and entertainment venue by his great-great-grandson.
The building embodies the spirit of trade and community that defined the area’s past. Today, the Merchant Warehouse stands as a hub for locals and visitors, offering meals and entertainment, blending rustic charm with modern functionality. Its cozy inviting interior features heritage architecture, creating the perfect atmosphere for pub fare, wine, craft beer and non-alcohol choices. We're also home to regular local entertainment and the Woody Point of View show.
With breathtaking views of Bonne Bay as its backdrop, this historic space offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re here to enjoy the exceptional fish and chips, hear the artistry of local musicians, immerse yourself in captivating tales of the region, or simply soak in the ambiance of Woody Point’s rich history, the Merchant Warehouse is the place to be.
Note: the Woody Point of View show takes place upstairs at the Merchant Warehouse; visitors should expect to navigate a flight of stairs.
